ANC 1B meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of every month, by Zoom unless otherwise noted. Committee meetings are held at various times throughout each month.
While they’re both straight hair types, 1B typically has a straight texture with a slight bend to the strands, whereas 1C is thicker, coarser, and has noticeable body and volume. 1B hair types will need to focus on flyaways and tangles, whereas 1C is prone to frizz.
Type 1b hair holds both straight styles and curled looks with relative ease. The slight natural wave provides just enough texture to grab onto styling products while still being smooth enough to straighten perfectly when desired.
1B hair has the following basic characteristics: it is medium-thick, straight with small bends from mid-to-end, appears voluminous, and is easily oily. This type of hair can be curled using curling products.
The b in 1b stands for black, while 1 indicates that it is the first hue of natural black. 1b is a darker shade of black that appears more natural than jet-black strands.
While not stick-straight (that would be 1a hair), 1b hair falls straight from the root to the middle of the hair, where it might start to appear slightly wavy. It tends to be soft, with mostly fine strands, and when it’s healthy, looks shiny and smooth.
If your hair is mostly straight but with a subtle wave and medium thickness, you likely have 1B hair. This hair type strikes a perfect balance between straight and wavy, offering versatility in styling while maintaining a smooth texture.
Type 1B hair can be described as straight with a hint of body and volume that can be further coaxed out through a targeted hair care and styling regimen. Usually, the strands are neither thick nor thin and may have some texture at the ends.
