A lawyer for Meta Platforms shareholders who were suing Mark Zuckerberg and other company leaders told a Delaware judge on Thursday that the parties had reached a settlement agreement, ending a $8 billion trial over Facebook’s user privacy violations.

The case is expected to run through late next week and include testimony from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and former COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Behind-the-scenes details of an agreement between Facebook and US privacy regulators in 2019 emerged in a Delaware court Wednesday, during a trial on investor claims the settlement cost them at least $7 billion.
