The Ligue 1 club president also addressed an incident that took place after the final whistle, involving head coach Luis Enrique. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma appeared to be involved in an argument with Chelsea's Joao Pedro, during which Enrique interfered to support his player.

Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to win the first edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup. Cole Palmer struck twice in the opening half before summer signing Joao Pedro scored his third goal of the tournament to stun PSG, the reigning European champions.

After a dominant run to the Club World Cup final, PSG looked like a shell of itself as Chelsea claimed the victory with a 3-0 rout.
