Portnoy and Barstool Sports are expected to play a part in FS1's coverage in the near future. Front Office Sports' Ryan Glasspiegel reported that Portnoy is nearing a deal with the channel that would see him join its college football pregame program, "Big Noon Kickoff."

PENN sold Barstool Sports back to its founder after initially purchasing a 36% stake in Barstool for $163 million back in 2019. It was a $0 purchase on the sale back to Dave Portnoy.

The Barstool Sports founder is a long-time fan of the singer. Portnoy attended the Eras Tour at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and raved about his experience on his BFF's podcast in June 2023.
