Deputies are investigating after multiple people were shot at a park in the Arden-Arcade area on Saturday evening, officials said.

According to a social media post from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, deputies "are on scene at Howe Park investigating a shooting involving multiple victims" and the investigation is active.

The gathering drew "several hundred" people and investigators say it was billed on social media as a Picnic Day event.
