Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz hit one of the longest home runs in post-2016 HRD history, now tied for fourth place with Judge and Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani with a 513 foot hit. Cruz alone was responsible for the five longest homers of the night.

The New York Yankees saw Jazz Chisholm participate in the Home Run Derby. He did not put together the strongest performance and drew plenty of criticism from fans.

Chisholm's rise to becoming an All-Star in his first full season with New York is tied to several big gains, from his weight to his hitting.
