David Rhodes, Sky News executive chairman and former CBS News head, is in talks to run CBS News again if the Skydance acquisition of the broadcaster's owner Paramount Global closes, digital news website Puck reported on Friday.
Skydance's CEO told the FCC this week that CBS would reflect "varied ideological perspectives" of U.S. viewers, while touting "American storytelling."
CBS will end "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and retire "The Late Show" franchise in May 2026, the company announced Thursday.
Ellison "discussed Skydance’s commitment to unbiased journalism and its embrace of diverse viewpoints" in the meeting, as well as concerns about Tencent's stake in the company.
Stephen Colbert riffed Paramount Global’s $16 million settlement of Donald Trump ‘s lawsuit, calling the payment a “big fat bribe” and joking about the prospects that new owner Skydance will try pressure him to back off from humor directed at the president.
