New York Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani faces criticism from Donald Trump, Eric Adams and others who have labeled him a communist or socialist based on his past statements. He is in a tense race to become the city's next leader.

Some of those who supported Mamdani said they felt their contributions could forecast a rise in a larger network of Muslim Americans fundraising in national politics.

Sliwa referenced how Cuomo said in his own interview on Good Day that he did not run a strong race prior to the mayoral primary election. He also declared himself "the guy who can fight Zohran Mamdani," claiming that the other candidates are too preoccupied with demanding the others drop out of the race.

The country's largest health care union, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, has endorsed Democratic mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, reversing its previous endorsement of Andrew Cuomo even after the former governor officially relaunched his campaign this week.
