This past Sunday was the annual Eastern Washington University day at T-Mobile Park. Alumni and current students from all over the Evergreen State (including yours truly) made their way to Seattle to enjoy an afternoon of Mariners baseball with their fellow Eagles.

Christian Walker hit a go-ahead solo homer in the sixth inning as the Houston Astros rallied from an early three-run deficit and beat the Seattle Mariners 11-3 to avoid a series sweep.

After the Mariners got off to a good start against the division rival Astros, Bryan Woo and company quickly fell apart.

Houston is 4-3 against Seattle this season and 3-1 in the last four, but struggled entering the All-Star break. The Astros are 1-5 over the last six games after going on a 6-1 stretch prior to that. Houston is leading the AL West by 5.0 games and has the second-easiest strength of schedule remaining.

BOTTOM LINE: The Seattle Mariners, on a four-game home winning streak, host the Houston Astros. Seattle has a 26-21 record in home games and a 52-45 record overall. The Mariners are 21-8 in games when they did not allow a home run.
