Former Yorktown baseball star pitcher Jacob Pruitt was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday.

The Greenfield-Central ace recently enrolled at Mississippi State and is in Starkville taking summer classes and gearing up for his first collegiate season. “I want to be coached by [Mississippi State head] coach [Brian] O’Conner, so I thought the best decision for me was to turn things down and go to school,” Rhodes said.
