United Airlines’ operations center at Denver International Airport got a big update just before this summer’s big travel rush.

The numbers are now in. American Airlines dealt with a major computer outage, and it's now clear that thousands of the airline's passengers were affected by flight delays during that time frame.

An American Airlines statement said that an odor reported at an airport led to several crew members being hospitalized with inhalation symptoms.

Of those flights, 375 are American Airlines. The airline said it is actively working with its partners to resolve the connectivity issue, which has led to delays in operations.

American Airlines suffered a widespread outage with its flight information computer system, authorities with two affected airports told CNN.

A "technology issue" affected American Airlines systems on Friday, and passengers reported long waits on planes before the issue was resolved.
