Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said search and rescue efforts continue after the deadly floods in Central Texas as crews work to remove debris from roads and bridges. The governor said search parties still include many out-of-state volunteers and dog teams.

A second wave of Indiana first responders were sent to Texas’ Hill Country region earlier this week to assist in response efforts after extreme flash flooding.

Lawmakers should be holding public hearings now, demanding testimony from local officials, emergency managers and state agencies about what went wrong and how to fix it.
