Portland's WNBA team revealed its name and logo Tuesday in an epic video, and the name will be a familiar one to fans. After all, Portland's previous WNBA team was also named the Fire, and they played three seasons from 2000 to 2002. The announcement came with a video that included a montage of locations in the city and old Fire highlights.
The league has announced that the Portland Fire will officially debut in 2026, and they even have an incredible logo that shows off the team's intentions to set the league ablaze once they take the court.
Amid critical negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) before the current deal ends after this season, coupled with the expansion boom and new superstars like Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese, the league is growing at an exponential pace.
