Did you know your rope's lay direction can make or break a lift? You can tell a rope’s lay direction by how the strands spiral. If they angle up and to the right, it’s a right-hand lay. If they angle up and to the left, it’s a left-hand lay. In multi-line or twin-rope systems, matching opposite lay directions (one right, one left) helps cancel out torque. That means: - The load won’t spin during the lift - The rope stays stable and intact under pressure - You reduce the risk of the rope unlaying
