Hokitika is the jewel in the crown of the West Coast's pounamu country. Passing through on long-distance cycle route, there are plenty of must-do stops and diversions along the West Coast Wilderness Trail. We visited the blue waters of the Hokitika Gorge, hired electric-bikes from West Coast Cycle & Tours and even crafted greenstone souvenirs at Bonz 'N' Stonz Carving Studio workshop in town. For some of the best views around, head up the West Coast Treetop Walk & Cafe to look out over Lake Mahi
